Honestly, practically everything nowadays is taboo. Comedians end up telling contrived jokes because so many people get too offended too easily.

I think a lot of good comedians carry on without much kerfuffle tbh, some of those guys are just as over-sensitive as the people they are offending with the whole "yOu CaN't Be A cOmEdIaN aNyMoRe" like i dunno ur probably just not funny

people whinging about everyone being "offended" "nowadays" are quite honestly more sensitive than the people they swear are being fun police

You now have so called comedians like Bill Burr saying Ricky Gervais' monologue was too much and that it was straight bullying. In reality it was the most vanilla shit possible and it was still the funniest mainstream stand-up "routine" in quite a while which speaks volumes as to where things are.

I listen to his podcast semi regularly. Dudes got the same sense of humor, he's just less angry and doesn't drink alcohol anymore because he finds it detrimental. If you think he got sjw'd I'd just say you're delusional.

i think there's always been a certain level of "not giving a fuck" needed for a successful comic, whether or not it's The Great Depression of humour I still appreciate and respect comedians who take that shit in stride and turn it on itself over ones that are just gonna whinge about it.
