i love that he still calls them "tunes"; for all his experimentation and change, he still knows and respects his cultural roots.
strongly recommend everyone read this if you have even a glancing interest in Burial: https://www.thewire.co.uk/in-writing/interviews/burial_unedited-transcript

Yea the Rodent omission is a big wtf, in agreement that it's one of his best. I'm gonna dl and listen to this tonight. I never did check out his most recent EPs, and then there are the ones I barely remember anymore like Street Halo. Been long enough since I've heard these that I'll probably enjoy the hell out of this but I agree with pots that it's hard to imagine this as a very cohesive project. Far as I can tell based on the tracklist this thing wasn't pieced together in a logical way with consideration to flow and instead looks like it's just one ep after the next. Was kind of hoping he'd change the track ordering up a bit.
Edit: upon reexamination it actually does look like some of the track ordering is out of place so I retract that gripe. It does look like some of it is kept in order tho, if memory serves

have you actually looked at the tracklist...

I noticed it just now, but a lot of this is still mostly in order, right?
10. Kindred 11. Loner 12. Ashtray Wasp
13. Rough Sleeper 14. Truant
15. Street Halo 16. Stolen Dog 17. NYC
Kindred is in order, Truant and Rough Sleeper are switched, and Stolen Dog and NYC are switched otherwise that's mostly the same. Idk, I guess I expected a bit more shifting around? Maybe it works as its laid out though, perhaps it would have sounded weird all mixed up, gonna have to listen and maybe experiment for myself to find out.
