Same reason why I posd it. I disagree heavily but its a well written review and I can see why people who wish for more of the spazzy mathy bits would be disappointed by the more melodic direction.

You know, I just saw them last night on their current tour with knocked loose and though I had only heard a few songs, the few I had listened to before I went sounded pretty good. But their entire set was just dissonant breakdown after dissonant breakdown, with a few melodic interludes. They were heavy as shit, but it pretty old after a while and I found myself thinking when will this be over, which is never good for a live band, so I agree with you, I was pretty underwhelmed.

id be thinking when it would all be over if I had to sit through Knocked Loose for longer than 3 minutes too.

Wow, this was harsh, but it was also well-written and gave a lot to think about. Didn't think this record was nearly as bad, but big pos on the review. Awesome work.

even if this is generic for mathcore it's still not bad. Wasn't as immediately good as say, new State Faults or Shin Guard but it was a pretty decent listen.

Theres hardly any mathcore in the first place here, unfortunately.

Whats the difference between a "structured fuck with purpose" and "pointless wanking"?

"Nah this ain't regression this is them adding Mis Sigs to their Fear Before."

sounds nothing like Fear Before, never got that comparison. Ripping off Mis Sigs and recyclying the same instrumentals over an entire album doesn't equal progression.

"Wasn't as good as new State Faults"

Not even close. Clairvoyant is easily one of the best hardcore releases of the year.

Yeah I’m with you kinda disappointing compared other stuff they have released but I wouldn’t say it’s quite as bad as you think. It still has some decent qualities.

Yeah this isn’t bad actually, a couple of decent jams. Not sure it’s ever going to become a Demon staple, but fine for what it is. The melodic tendencies are reasonably well implemented for the most part, save for the odd moment. I guess if you want the spazzcore dialed up to eleven then it may disappoint.

Undecided on their older stuff at the minute, sounds like bobbins so far. Not really my thing.
