I liked how meandering and semi-plotless it was, though I think it commits enough to the "main" plot that a lot of people will probably agree with you on that

was hoping for more accessible cuts like sing along, but was pleased with the surprising grit and depth of tracks like the closer

about an equal tradeoff IMO

That's pretty much the main reason (along with Sowing's summary) that I gave this a shot. Too bad it only partially lives up to that cover.

In need of further re-listens, but I loved how the opening track just kinda reeled me in.

My equalizer got messed up recently so I have no idea if this had kind of a weird production going on or if its my Realtek audio manager being a bitch

Fastest Horse in Town is a song of the year candidate. What a monster fucking jam.

It has a When The Levee Breaks kind of feel to it.

It would've been okay if every video was a random vignettes from a post apocalyptic world if that's what they were going for, but when half of the album tells a story then abandons it and then picks it up at the end. That's what bothers me about stylistic changeups on the album too.

This might be an odd pick since it's kind of out of place here but I think "Mercury In Retrograde" is my favorite here.

‘It has a When the Levee Breaks feel’

Well that’s a hard 5 of a tune so I’m seeing why I also 5’d the closer here

Is it true this guy got the guy who did the Jojo anime OPs to do an animated film for this album? That's kinda neat if so.

Love Sturgill. Glad he's gotten exposure here since Sailor's Guide.

I appreciate Sturgill but this is mostly obnoxious, especially those ear-piercing synths. This is at its best when it sounds like one of the more recent albums from The Sword.
