that's a strange descriptor for a band like this, adequate.

They do what they do just well enough to be listenable, and always pull up a tick short of interesting.

honestly, I'm loving this! One of the rare times too where I wish a band would make more use of clean vocals

I appreciate that they stuck to the direction of Worse Than Alone but I feel like they couldve continued it better. Ill prob give it a few more listens because I feel like it might grow. I like it more than their first two for sure though.

i think if there's a next album, that will blow some socks off. I see this album as the band poking their heads out the dirt like prairie dogs wondering if it's safe to come out

I hope you're right Calc. I've been a #12 fan forever, but this really isn't hitting me in the way I'd hoped.

their screams can be good, but also cringey as fuck (civeta dei comes to mind) same goes for the growls. i think they finally started to get a good mixture going on nsn and worse than alone but there are still a lot of misses on both. this seems like a more mature version of their sound, but at the same time a little boring.

These guys are the same as I remember. Lots of potential and cool parts ruined by poor songwriting. But I suppose the incohesive-ness is part of their appeal?
edit: Actually the songwriting on Worse Than Alone is pretty good. It's more Mongrel I'm thinking of. I don't really remember Sad Nuclear, and the debut is fine.
