I don't know I'm reading into things too much here, but there are a few times where lyrics from Swell appear on this album. I don't know if this is intentional and, therefore, conceptual, or if it's lazy. If it's the former I dig it. So far this kinda feels like a response to Swell. While that album was a bit of a downer, this one seems to be trying to find the positives in hardship.

I noticed the same thing with the lyrics. I think it was probably intentional, seeing as how this band is a really big fan of themes.
This is probably my most played 3.5 of the year. I keep coming back to it, even if it's not necessarily anything special.

I really dug Swell and wouldn't mind if this was a continuation. Maybe if I was a long time fan I'd feel differently.

they need to really start evolving. lyrics continue to be absolutely cringe-worthy and the arrangements are so stale. i don't think they're challenging themselves at all. Probably just jam for a few days back from tour and call that a new album.

Bumping it to a 4. Yes it's a carbon copy of Swell but damn, they know how to write infectious hooks.
Soft Spot is so fucking good.

yeah guardians is good as hell!

Their new 2 song EP or whatever is some of the best material they've released in a while. Guardians destroys anything on this album.

Wow that new single. Never expected the band to go in that direction. They've completely redefined themselves.

goddamn yeah truly shocking stuff, wasn't anticipating blastbeats and gutturals. also very glad they didn't stretch out a weak metaphor over an entire chorus or anything
