Not to spit out a fire take but I think Vernon is the most overrated artist of the last decade-plus

I like his first couple a lot but his experimentation stuff doesnt work for me.

The S/T is a near 5. Towers, Perth, Holocene, and Calgary are all God Tier songs.

I listened to Holocene yesterday. That could have been cool if I didn’t loathe the vocal stylings of every man, woman and child in the folk and indie genres

It's like people feel obligated to love every bit of booger-crusted macaroni art in existence simply because someone took the time to create it.

Watch this grow on a lot of the folks hating on it. I'm not exactly feeling it right now, either. But give it some time. It just left the gates.

I dont know, I've been through it 6 times now and its gotten worse every time. I find the first 4 songs excruciatingly bad, then Hey Ma is good, then the next 3 suck tremendously, then it gets ok at the end. I jammed it in the car today thinking that would help, and it only made it worse.

Yea, that's generally not a good sign. I listened to it once. Was bored with it. Although, it still seemed to have many points of potential. Got a ways to go.
