I'll admit it was super cool to see live the other night. The crowd participation was big

Unsainted has grown on me. Still bottom tier for this album, but that speaks more to how good this album is rather than it bring a bad song.

I've heard worse things this year. Laura Stevenson and Copeland come to mind. But it's okay. There's also been so much good shit, I can barely keep up and listen to it all.

Yeah not feelin' this release that much.

Clearly better than The Gray Chapter but it seems like people are giving it way too much credit because of that.

Yeah, it’s weird that people keep calling it their best since Vol. 3 as if that’s some sort of achievement. Like, this is a good album either way, but saying it’s better than The Grey Chapter and AHIG isn’t really saying much.

Digging: Jeff Rosenstock - NO DREAM

I guess it's because it's been 15 years since they released something of acceptable standard?

As someone who never listen to Slipknot as a kid I can advise that early slipknot is just as mediocre as this just came at the right time

to build on that, yeah, releasing a commercially and critically successful nu-metal record 20-some years into the band's career...I'd say it's an accomplishment

The anti-nostalgia authority has spoken. How can anyone disagree?

The first half of this destroys. Might be their best since the debut.

I was ready to slap a 4 on this but most of the 2nd half is pretty weak.

that reverby guitar line behind the "you've killed the saint in me" part in Unsainted is so good. actually a lot of those pop up throughout this album, kinda has a Cure-esque sound

I think this stands next to Vol 3 and Iowa, but to each his own. I dig Unsainted, and I like them trying new things. I dig the chorus, but some just want more Iowa. I'm glad we got an album that can please any sort of Slipknot fan.

"I've heard worse things this year. Laura Stevenson and Copeland come to mind."

dammit, you would pick two other well-received records instead of something truly cringey. In a year with Skillet, Papa Roach, and Buck Cherry releases, you go after sweet innocent Laura. SAD!

btw, anyone claiming the second half is weaker than the first is being sentenced to the gallows at 8am tomorrow
