In contrast, I always wondered why more metalcore tier bands didn't adopt a greater amount of pendulum influence. Not really feeling this but kudos to them for stepping out of the box a little.

I’m going to cautiously check this out this afternoon I think. I was fully expecting this to get roasted on Sput because it’s Northlane without Adrian. If I wasn’t a fan of the previous two albums would it even be worth my time?

I didn’t care about Northlane before but this record made me a fan.

I think this album could definitely be redeeming in the eyes of those who didn't like the last two albums with Bridge. For me, those albums were alright. I liked the first albums much more, and to me this is substantially different and a solid step up from Node and Mesmer.
So to give a lawyer answer to your question, Bandit..... It depends.

Putting Northlane and "doom metal" in the same sentence, nahh.
Good review overall, I'm loving this album.

Alright, I’ll give it a shot and see if it sticks. I have Discoveries and Singularity both 5’d and the Marcus albums aren’t even rated... if that tells you anything haha.

Maybe I could've said better Matthias, but when I heard that ending, I literally felt like I was listening to a Black Tongue track for a few seconds.
Well Bandit, I love both of those albums, but they're almost from a foregone age now in that we may not hear much like them again. But in at least sheer heavy metal moments, which I thought were a strength for those albums, this album improves on the last two and comes back home.

Surprisingly dug this quite a bit, Vultures in the context of the album is quite awesome, with the industrial vibe from previous tracks Eclipse and Paradigm it ignites a great power within

Just like the new Bad Omens album, this manages to sound better and better on every new listen. Man I'd love to see both bands live again.

Am I the only one who thinks Marcus is actually a fucking awful screamer. His cleans are okay

He does sound like his voice is being strained a LOT when he screams, I don't think his technique is good

@shark
Black Tongue isn't even close to doom metal either, bud. Haha. Not trying to be an asshole or anything- just an odd pick of what you see doom metal as. Try out some Electric Wizard, Celtic Frost, Sleep, Pentagram, and of course some Black Sabbath to see what doom metal is all about.

Man where in the fuck are you guys hearing Architects in this?

I admit I've only dabbled in EW from those, I thought Black Tongue was labeled "doomcore" and we are in metalcore here. Fair enough though, only one instance so far of not properly translating my brain thoughts for the other brains is pretty good for me.
