It's funny how a fairly industrial-tinged album such as this is criticized for being too "mechanical" as if industrial metal isn't chock-full of that. Serious question here: what makes this too mechanical, as opposed to say, a Sybreed (in fact, "Paradigm" does a wonderful job of channeling a Sybreed-esque vibe) or Mnemic album?

It's because there's no passion here. Adrianlane was full of passion and emotion. This is emotionless garbage.

^honestly saying this ruins any argument you could possibly have about this album because it's factually incorrect... you can do better.

Is that why the closer hits like a ten ton truck for me? Its emotionless garbageness?

It hits like a truck full made up entirely of pillows

I'd let that pillow-filled semi run me over any day of that week then. FUCK, I love it.

Is this worth going back to? First time i listened to it was alright but boring. From what I remember the electronics drowning out things.

Electronics are not that big of a deal I think, they never bothered me and only added some needed texture.

Yeah dude say what you want about the music but this album carries way more passion and emotion than Adrian screaming about drugs and metaphysics lol

I can see why it can feel emotionless though

people are still mad because Adrian-sempai isn't in the band
if you ask me neither Adrian or Marcus aren't very good vocalists but Marcus does a better job here than anything Adrian ever did with the first two albums.

"what makes this too mechanical, as opposed to say, a Sybreed or Mnemic album?
Uhhh the fact that both bands you mentioned are way better songwriters than these guys?

Like forget about the Adrian/Marcus argument that gets rehashed all the time. Lets talk about how these dudes aped the tropes of industrial metal but still cant make an interesting album to save their lives. Lets talk about how almost every song on here has uninspired boring synths and the climax to almost every track is the predictable chug part where they spam the brown note while Marcus screams some bullshit.

Agreed, easily their best album

Adrian had way more passion and emotion in his yells and lows than Marcus ever has lol, Marcus is a shitty screamer and his cleans are boring. Transcending Dimensions and Exposure have better lyrics and are delivered in a much more genuine way than any Marcus song

I still don't understand how Marcus sounds better in that one solo song he did than the entirety of his output with Northlane

Haha nothing wrong with liking both Jay. I was just fucking around.
But for real, it's hard to claim that Marcus has more emotion than Adrian. That guy poured his heart and soul into lines, you could feel it when he sang. I don't feel/hear anything close to that with Marcus.
