Idk about Ambulance but Yoshimi and The Terror definitely aspire to a concept album-ish level of thematic cohesion

Oh damn, forgot about Ambulance - definitely a lot of threads running through that one too

yeah you've got an explicit three-part song as well as strong links between every other song on the album there

I'd argue 7 Skies H3 is their biggest concept-driven piece, whether you go by its complete version or the more common edited edition (or the few fan-made variations)

I never said that they haven't made a concept album:

"...they’ve pieced together their share of elaborate concept albums, be it the robotic themes of Yoshimi or the weird, tripped out space of Oczy. Still, they’ve never properly crafted a story; something that goes all-out with characters, a plot, and full narration."

I feel that much is true regardless of their past thematic success. If I were to contend one of my own points, it'd be the huge stretch of a statement that Oczy conceptually signified anything at all.

I may have misread that a bit - still, bar the outright narration, there is a story in Yoshimi (and Peace Sword if that counts, which it should as top 5 Flips)

No worries, I'm in agreement about their penchant for concept albums/themes throughout their career.

Enjoyed this album very much, it really brings back those Yoshimi vibes better than probably any other record they made in the past 10-12 years. I also like how well the songs flow into each other just like old-school Lips.

The Yoshimi story only lasts for 3 or 4 songs.

Way better than I said in my review. This keeps growing... probably their best since Yoshimi.
