"row'ros (row pronounced like now in English)"
I sorta concur, very easy to pronounce if you are Finnish lol - basically just say it as it is written

The Deafheaven thing? This is only 50% metal - that was my only comparison. A lot of this is hard rock as a genre I'd say - not shoegaze/blackgays or whatever.
Only this seems like 'soft section = no vocals' to more of a strict degree.

For a metal album this is very delicate and soft - but actually in a good way.
This is one of the lest heavy 'heavy albums' I've ever tried but it actually works.
Dare I say this is quite pretty and the lead guitar licks are sort of rock'y n' occasionally proggy
The drums are so polite and low in the mix - but again in a quite appealing way, I'm calling this 'passive/aggressive dream metal'
I'm actually not taking the piss too much, this will probably end up a 3.5-4 from me

I've always pronounced it roar ros as well, and will continue to, but if you look it up in the Encyclopedia of Arda (Tolkien wiki) it has a pronunciation guide:

@doof- I pretty much agree with all of that. The leads are definitely rock'y 'n proggy.... i get heavy later era Maiden vibes from them a lot of the time.

I'll go 3.5 for now but I'll revisit later in the week
I don't want to give it a 4 because I 4'd a 2019 metal album I preferred a bit just last week, the Esoctrilihum which was something else (one weakness - 20 minutes too long, 75 minutes was unnecessary)
I'm thinking this might be my second favourite metal release of the year so far

3.5 v respectable for someone who (to my knowledge at least) isn't the biggest metal fan

nearly 800 metal ratings on RYM and climbing...
I did start my musical journey with metal but by the end of the 90s I'll admit I had moved away from it barring the sort of mainstream 'big metal releases of the year' - ISIS, Neurosis, Mastodon, etc
Slowly got back into metal over the 10s, probably thanks to Blut Aus Nord who I got a bit obsessed with for a while after trying a couple of their albums.
This year I'm listening to everything in the sput 2019 top 100 - so a lot of additional metal in my diet.
