"The People vs..." definitely brings back the old school Sum feels

Agreed and I also get a bit of a 90s Offspring vibe from it

Could you please STOP downvoting all sum 41 albums? It's like you hate them because its like a trend.

Can confirm that Sum 41 puts on a HELL of a live show. Saw them a few years back, and they're definitely up there with the best shows I've seen!

As someone who enjoyed screaming bloody murder (I still think the title track is one of the best songs they've ever made), or at least more than most, and hated 13 voices.. this album is pretty good. Love the opening track.

I was too, but with Brownsound back in the fold again and Deryck actually healthy they look like they're playing as well as they've ever been and will be for a while.

Caught them last summer and they killed it live. Even through several persistent sound issues with the speakers cutting out

Still very skeptical of this, given the [lack of] quality of the singles. But will check eventually for sure

They sounded so good it was like listening to studio versions of the tracks but also they just know how to entertain.

Thrice, who played before them, also sounded fabulous but most of the crowd was bored (I didn't mind I just wanted to hear them lol). They could use a little bit of showmanship in their performance. Of Dust and Nations live was a very pleasurable experience though.. that instrumental section at the end, damn.

Finished it. It's...fine. Don't think it's as good as Chuck or DTLI, but it is the best stuff they've done in a long time.

I loved Chuck so I'm inclined to give this a whirl.

Some of these songs could fit right on Chuck/DTLI and not feel out of place. Pleasantly surprised, will prolly be the most nostalgic album of the year

So I guess I’m alone in thinking their last two records were their best and this is a bit of a step back. Still not bad by any means, just a tad underwhelmed.

Eh to each their own. Aside from Chuck all their early stuff is disposable imo. SBM is MCR worship, but it’s done well imo and 13 Voices was a legit well crafted record. I’m also a casual fan of theirs so take my opinion for what it’s worth. Still, this album is pretty good if not a bit smart at points.
