I think the mix is cool! You find it too muffled?

I think is cool as well, honestly...just not to 5 levels...not just yet...I also made this decision not to 5 stuff that "just" came out. Last year I had to on Slugdge, which was an awesome new discover for me, metalsongwritingwise, and also Thou who's discography turned out to be one of my faves ever. Its wrong to do it on Azusa since its awesome, but also a debut and I think its cool to see where they go from there with no pressure X)
Of course, when you know the band perfectly well and what they do to you, there's nothing wrong in 5ing, such as the Hooded Menace did to me X)

Sounds like it's less of a mixing problem and more like waiting to see how the album settles. I definitely get how it's easy to hype-5 something but it may not earn that rating in the end.
Far as I'm concerned the production suits this well.

The production is excellent, I like how the atmospheric flourishes are really allowed to shine through. It also feels natural despite the numerous sudden changes throughout the record, the production certainly helps in that regard.
I waited ages before rating this (6 full spins)... I'm more likely to do that with something I really like, as the chances are I'll be wanting to hear it again in quick succession. So what's the rush in that scenario?
P.S. Yeah, I awarded 2 x 4.5s last year and they weren't exactly the most obvious of hyped releases, but fortunately they did both gain some traction here.

Production is really good, only a tiny too low.

Yeah, this is definitely in my top 10 for this year. With this and the new State Faults I feel like I'm getting back into hardcore. Any other good post-hardcore/noise rock this year?

I wish. Post-hxc has been in a huge slump as of late as far as I can tell. Many up-and-coming acts are trapped in the shadow of ALLB and similar bands of that sound, basically copying them one-for-once.

Best I can do for ya, as far as 2019 is concerned:
Brutus (BE) - Nest
Nostromo (CHE) - Narrenschiff
Minors - Abject Bodies (underrated imo)
Castor's Hollow - Shape and Void
Ithaca - The Language of Injury
There were some others I excluded since they were were emo/skramz-influenced than hardcore/post-hxc/metalcore. The included bands are more firmly within the hardcore spheres.

Definitely gonna check these.

They're all very good. But even then I'll admit 2-3 of those are metalcore-leaning rather than hardcore, and out of that group Minors is kinda sludgy.
I'll admit that, naturally, I'm only one guy with limited time and an equally limited perspective over the genre of post-hardcore--there's only so much I can hear, so much I can explore. But in that experience, as of late I have been disappointed by Hail the Sun clones with those same screaming tenor vocal performances.
