Reading’s for schmucks

dropped this to 3.5, little interest in returning. doesn't offer anything we haven't heard from prominent neo-soul/experimental hip-hop of the past few years

This is still booty.

^ I Think is so Kanye it’s not even funny.
I can’t believe this album blew up the way it did. Even more popular than Flower Boy which was the definition of a breakthrough

commercially yes, this was bound to happen tho but Flower Boy wasn't really a breakthru. Goblin was the initial break into the ~mainstream~, FB just reintroduced Tyler to a wider audience after his recognition started to fade. with that wide audience, he can now release a billboard topping album

Flowerboy was definitely a breakthrough. He was fading into irrelevancy FAST
As “mainstream” as he got after goblin, it was still fairly niche, only really appealing to teenagers who spent too much time on the internet. He wasn’t considered an artist to be reckoned with til FB
