I found parts of this review to be quite enjoyable, and you’re clearly a very talented writer so I’d urge you to keep at it! Where I think the review goes off the rails is where you lecture the band for an inability to self-edit for quality control, but then immediately proceed to reveal the same flaw in your writing by spending the entire second half of the review expounding on a single beef you have with the band. That a punk band known for political and social commentary releases an album that takes a position on contentious political issues is hardly surprising and does not warrant this much ink.

While it does contain a couple of cheap shots that would be more at home on a NOFX album (‘little Traitor in Chief’ – lol tell us what you really think Mr. Brett), by and large Age of Unreason is an intelligent and thoughtful commentary on the overarching theme that the ideals underpinning western liberal democracy are under siege. Trump may or may not be a traitor, but no matter where you stand politically the ‘moral and intellectual vacuum’ of today is a widespread concern and we should be able to openly discuss how our leaders are contributing to it. By tacking these issues head-on in their typical thought-provoking style, I would say that with this album Bad Religion has made a positive contribution to the current political debate.

Lol how so? Did the album magically stop being typical Galaxy Brain liberal fodder with d-beats?

So is it gonna be like Taylor Swift when she's single and has nothing to write about when Biden takes office for punk rock? Or is it more like the "this is fine" dog burning down with the house meme cuz they'll ignore all the awful shit he does and hit another writing slump? These are the real questions

Just joking about how most punk bands view Republicans like Bush or Trump as existential political threats that inspire tons of angry political albums yet they never have much to say when guys like Obama or Clinton were in and do things that are even worse, it's odd
