Dude, garas, I lost so much respect for both of them after that interview tbh. Honestly, it was almost as if their SINGLE thought-process throughout the entire review was 'I'm a metal reviewer, i review TEH METUHLZ and this is POZER SHYIT. DO U NOT KNO WHU I AM'. Fuckin' cringe.
Literally, the exact sort of attitude that was the entire basis for the comic that the album's based on. I refuse to believe that neither of them (or anyone else involved in a metal review show?) didn't clock that they were completely missing the point. Lol, yeah, those comments were savage as fuck, and entirely deserved.

The Banger review was weird. They were judging this as a raw black metal album when in reality it wasn't meant to be edgy or groundbreaking, but a sorta accessible fun bunch of songs. I usually like them but they missed the point with this one. Maybe "it's just meant to be fun" sounds like a deflection of criticism, but the songwriting itself is really good.
That said, people are speculating that the singer's from Insomnium, but I'd go as far to say that it's a straight-up Insomnium album with more a black metal aesthetic. The songwriting sounds very familiar, it might just be me though.

Good album. Doesn't feel very special though since it's just another Insomnium without the same focused songwriting by virtue of not being Insomnium, and the black metal elements are just fringe enough that it's not that crazy different.
