Gojira doesn't need to be in the related artists just bc this band played some riffs like theirs a few times lol. It's a relatively minor influence but feels more prominant due to how different it is from the rest of the band's style.

"you realize Gojira weren't even close to starting this sound right?"

The way the riffs are played combined with the tone of the guitars creates a clearly intentional Gojira-specific sound in many parts on this album. Ofc Gojira didn't invent oddly-timed chugs or thick tremolo riffs but the way they're used here is specifically similar. Next someone's gonna tell me that jazz break on the first track (I think) isn't an homage to Lantlos. ;3

Ahah true m/ I have some albums from the genre 4.5d...mostly from Downfall of Gaia, but I got so engaged on this one that 5ing it was pretty inevitable.

Edit - 4.5'd Alcest - Écailles De Lune and Downfall of Gaia - Suffocating in the Swarm of Cranes.

Yeah man! Almost finished with my first spin. Super nice mixture of styles, t/t is amazing. All of it is. Curious what a second listen will bring. I'm settling on a 4 right now I guess, but it could definitely grow if I keep enjoying it as much as I do right now.

Thanks bro!

Great review by the way Scheumke! Have a POS dude!

I'm actually debating giving this its second spin right away. How's that for a sign? Must be a good album.
