Majorly prefer the first half of the album. Tbh I probably get over 50% of my enjoyment from the first three songs.
'Picture Me Better' has that old times charm though so that makes sure I don't duck out early.
If there's going to be a Doof 5 out of 5 song on this it will certainly be the opener. It really does remind me of the way FJM opened 'Honeybear' and John Grant opened 'Queen of Denmark'. Really similar style of opening song.

this record is just gorrrgeous and your review does it justice friend.
the Philip Glass comparison gyro made on the previous page is spot on and something that took me totally by surprise when i first listened to Movies. the second half of the song reminds me so much of his Mishima score (which is a very good thing)

I just gave a sound off a few days ago before the album is fully released. Now, I'm pretty sure my sound off is still correct, this is one of the best albums of this year, if not THE. Very nice review, mate, already gave you a pos, and I really want to give another one too.
