Haven't listened to weyes blood for a while, i enjoyed some songs on her previous album. Is this really a big step up as the sput average rating makes it to be? Might want to give this a try!

"I gotta say, the new singles aren't doing it for me"

I enjoyed Grapevine more than the first single, but yeah - I agree. Hopefully it's one of those albums that has to be heard in its entirety.

Edit: Album is very good and the singles do sound better in context, even if they are still relatively weak in comparison to Titanic's singles and better songs on the new album.

The lack of truly memorable melodies and chord progressions is almost balanced by the beauty and lushness of her voice and the arrangements, but not quite... a slight step down from Titanic Rising all things considered, but still pretty great.

Pretty great way to summarize my thoughts so far, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's a beautiful listen.



Between this and AM's album, 2022 is the year of no melodies I guess haha
