The vocal effects may be "intentional", but they're stupid and pointless. And i'm not intentionally tuning her out...I actually tend to pay the most attention to vocals in songs that contain vocals. And I can barely hear her with this "linear pattern". It's just bad mixing.

To be fair she is 16/17, she could just be an edgy teenager herself

her vocals are eq'd perfectly relative to the instrumental, I dont even know how you can make the arguement that this is poorly mixed. listen to a shitty user project to hear what poorly mixed vocals sound like. the effects are intentional to create a wavy, subdued, morose sound. your arguement is flat out stupid in every way

still better than the 10,000th sad-indie-chick-weilds-acoustic-guitar-with-some-strings album of this year alone

check, weeknd entire discography, blackbear, halsey, etc for a real example of such. this is well curated, genuinely moody, minimalist pop.

also @Love if you can't hear the vocals in a vocal-driven track, its just bad mixing. simple.

If she walked the exorcist/zombie walk and started eating a proportion of Sowing's '10,000th sad-indie-chicks-weilding-acoustic-guitar-with-some-strings' then I'd buy into this image 110%
