This thing is straight bonkers. I've laughed, I've cried, I've cringed.

I'll give you a pos even though the review is insanely long and some stuff could be cut (I could imagine), but my thoughts on album is the 2nd half is quite amazing but 1st half is hit or miss

Its not horrible... and Samus kicked balls on his songs...

But I just miss when Devin didn't hide behind a pseudo choir so much! Too much fluff in this one for me.

I kinda like the slower moments much more than the often over the top heavy ones.

I highly recommend watching the documentary series Dev posted on YouTube for greater insight into every aspect of this album. If it's just not your thing that's fine, but Empath is the result of a very clear vision.

No, I think the amount of manhours that were put into making this mammoth is probably astounding.

Same over-the-top bombastic choir stuff he's done since Epicloud, but more incoherent. Kinda starting to lose faith in this guy now.

Lol dude. The orchestration of this is ridiculous. Not sure how you can compare it to the "same old choir stuff he's done since Epicloud".

Yeah this is lightyears ahead of the choir/orchestra stuff on Epicloud and the like, dude. Not even close.

I have been the biggest detractor of the choir and orchestra he has on everything lately, but damn it works great on this.

I expected to dislike this but I'm really loving it as a whole. It's absolutely insane to me that he basically self taught himself to make music like this.
