Dashboard Confessional is awful. I bought his their first album, when it was just him doing everything, and sort of liked it, but I was also pretty young at the time.
If a ton of 13-year-old girls reviewed at Sputnik, I bet you woud have 47,000 votes already.

Yeah I Perfer his Acoustic Stuff! But This Album Is Pritty Good I guess! I Guess He's Just Exlporing His Music A Bit But I Wish He Would Go Bak To Being The Old Dashboard! This Message Edited On 09.02.06

Carrabba is great at what he does. He relates to us ordinary love sick people. I think "Rooftops and Invitations" is my favorite song.
"She just might get you lost,
and she just might leave you torn,
but she just might save your soul"

Hey I think it's pretty good. Quality sentimental "summertime and friends" music, as the title implies. Much better than his acoustic music imoThis Message Edited On 01.01.08

Stolen gives me shivers, still, after all this time. One of my favourite songs of all time.
It's 'invitation-only grand farewells' not what you said
I heart this album big time.

This and the opener from the new one is the only Dashboard I can stand any more. The early stuff is so intolerably whiny.

Idk I just think this is a really enjoyable listen for when you're not looking for anything complex.
The album art is lame but I think Don't Wait is a great tune.

this guy just needs to stop making mediocre emo crap. he knows how to make one catchy hit per record and hands down will always be one of my guilty pleasures, but this cd blows a big one.

My friends were ripping on this album the other day but I always thought it pretty awesome. Especially rooftops and don't wait.

Following fantastic stand-alone single 'Vindicated' (a bonus track here), the full band sound Dashboard Confessional has been working towards comes together on 4th LP 'Dusk and Summer'. Using producers Daniel Lanois & Don Gilmore, this is a consistent, accessible & enjoyable release whose catchy melodies make every track a potential single. It's relatively unoriginal & won't convert doubters, but 'Dusk and Summer' ultimately does a great job of balancing the new rockier vibe with Chris Carrabba's trademark heart-on-sleeve approach. Recommended Tracks: (Vindicated), Reason to Believe, Rooftops and Invitations, The Secret's in the Telling & Stolen.
