Nice Dmax. Great descriptions. Agree with everything you stated. Band has always been just a hair beneath Fates Warning, Riverside and Subsignal. This album however probably vaults them side by side.

Yeah so far this has been the best thing I've heard this year 2. I wanted to talk about the production but couldn't find a proper place for it and I didn't want to make the review any longer than it already was. It's fantastic though!

The band is comfortable in this style now unfortunately. Was hoping they'd break out of the shell

I have no idea why I got this, but turns out it's probably the only prog metal disc I've enjoyed since 2013.

My favorite band of all time but this is very true.

Bro
You’ve missed this album.
Your loss

I listened to it once or twice, but there were only 2-3 songs that caught my attention, Departure being one of them.
I love this band so I'll need to revisit this sometime. Currently jamming Dream Theater though. Haven't said that in a while

Still the best thing I've heard this year, with Saor being a close second.

Some absolute jams on here that brought me back to Evergrey ala 15 years ago. I appreciate the effort. But for fuck sake make an album cover purple again.

Departure is so good

Departure is actually one of my least favorites on here, albeit still solid. "All I Have" might be a top 5 Evergrey song for me.

I'm stoked to see these guys live tomorrow. This was the first album I heard by them but I listened to their whole discography in preparation and The Atlantic still stands out. It's one of their most emotional and confident sounding albums, epic but relaxed. This sounds like seasoned musicians making something great. I think In Search of Truth is best and Recreation Day is second, but this new one is their best since Recreation Day imo.
