this was pretty good, nothing amazing but definitely better than their last LP

It's been said, but great review. This got me to check Is a Real Boy again and it's finally clicked.

Love the Hebrews is getting love here, might be my fave album by them. Also "so numb" rules but is the only good song from I don't think it is.

Bret Easton Ellis School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is better than this whole album lol
(Ew Jersey is great to be fair)

Most these songs remind me of In Defense of the Genre more than anything else. That album had several similar tunes + a lot of shorter tracks

If you trim the fat and make it a single 15 track album I could see that

I've decided after a few listens that, for me, "Daze", "It's a Process", "Your Father", and "The Hardest" are the standout tracks here... the rest are fine, but not anything special. "Fired" and "Greased" could've been left off.

Daze is the clear standout track. After spinning the album on and off for a little while, it's definitely lost its cool, though.

I don't care for daze tbh. Any song with max and Sherri harmonizing grabs my attention each listen though.

Daze was one of the better songs imo
this is potentially better than their last one and Hebrews, but not as good as self titled/defense/real boy

Any song with max and Sherri harmonizing grabs my attention each listen though.
does that even happen once on this album? Mouthbreather is probably the closest but that's just Sherri backing vox

Trading off... So not harmonizing you're right let's just say whenever she makes an appearance I think it automatically enhances the song
And mouth breather is definitely one of my favorites

Having a hard time finding a reason not to drop this to a 2.5 after repeated listens :[

fair enough. it's definitely nice taking a break from Max's weird-ass voice every so often. I dig Your Father for that alone

Your father is also top 5 for me
