Ha I did the same thing yesterday. I can't not bop up and down in my chair on Mona Lisa.

Pikachu is probably the only one I would skip, but the rest are all hard boppers, started to hear even some Faith No More here and there...

It so is.
Pika is one of my faves here actually, it's so shaky and dorky.

You did it Mars, now I have to listen to this again (I know, I know, I recommended it to you so figures). As its the start of my holiday and I feel this goes perfectly with that feeling. You know what time it is? A LITTLE ME TIME!!

I love this whole thing but I can't deny "Me Time" is the song I return to the most.

Why is this is so much fun, what is happening?
Edit: I don't even mind Pikachu, think I've got issues.

I know, somehow "Pikachu" became something of a favorite of mind? I have no clue, it's such an off-putting, strange song that comes across immediately as terrible, yet it manages to ingratiate itself with the listener. Incredible.

This was a welcome discovery.
Mars, just a thought: it's interesting how we both really like this, but also think that '100 Gecs' album is complete arse. I imagine some people would find both equally obnoxious. I guess the vocal delivery/production is the most notable difference. I wouldn't necessarily say they're that similar, I just think they could push the same buttons for many people. Both have that bouncy dance-pop element, both have absurd lyrics, both go off on weird experimental tangents.
Am I insane, or can you see what I'm getting at?

I understand where you're coming from. This feels like a much more controlled experiment, however, and naturally the vocals are completely different (thank the Lord for that). Whereas 1000 Gecs is all about throwing random shit at a wall and going "lol so random isn't it funny?!?", this album maintains a fun factor precisely because of its tight, albeit strange compositions.

Agreed completely, I don't think this is going for shock value, it's considerably more controlled. Yes, thankfully the vox here are pretty easy to digest, haha.
P.S. Sometimes I 'rating stalk' and you've reminded me to check a couple of things. You've listened to a ton of '19 stuff it would seem.

I've been keeping myself active in 2019, especially after my hiatus. I figure if I'm going to be a contributor, I ought to earn my rank rather than pat myself on the back and relax. Always searching for new stuff, stuff I missed, stuff to review, etc. I can't pump out write-ups with regularity as much as I'd like since I'm worried about forcing myself and/or causing exhaustion.

You seem to be doing a good job, your reviews are informative (Joliette!) so keep up the good work. What are you top 5 from this year so far then? I noticed your Akasha and Disentomb ratings (that might be of interest to me).
