It's a solid listen.

"

lol predators portrait is one of the most overrated metal records ive ever heard"

It's only a 3.7 avg on here last I knew. Honestly I think it's a great record and probably deserves higher. It's the Soilwork record I'm mostly likely to actually listen to still.

One thing that this band does really well (It almost seems like it's become a trademark almost over the past couple albums) is clean vocals over blast beats.

I think I first noticed it in Enemies in Fidelity. But there's a few songs on this album which use that style as well and they're really enjoyable.

They do a good job. And Bjorn is just older now too so it's not surprising for them to gravitate toward a style like that. I'll always be a bigger fan of the Chainheart-Natural Born era though.

This is different from the Gothenburg style though, I don't really need that to come back.

This records has way too many powermetal influences for me, especially when it comes to the vocal department. On past records they possessed a far less amount of cheese

Disagree here. STD was a very save record for them but quality wise, there are some real banger on there i.e. t/t, one with the flies and stalemate.

But maybe that's just linked to the fact that it was my first record by them
