Is "The Quiet Place" like the rest of their songs cause I love that!

They're Gothenburg. It's a very, very distant relative of death metal.

If you like The Quiet Place you will like Reroute To Remain and STYE, but Colony and their other older albums are less electronica-sounding.
Be careful where you say you love The Quiet Place. That sentence can get you jumped. I love it too though.

I agree. It gets so boring.

It is overrated, but I still think it's a good album. I prefer Clayman and Whoracle anyway.

Great great album. One of my favorites. The guitar parts are wicked.

Second only to Whoracle.
I don't have all of it, but what I've heard is brilliant. Embody The Invisible = ownage. One of my favorite In Flames songs.

Good review, although sometimes the scores you give for induvidual tracks don't really reflect your comments.
My fave tracks on here are Embody the Invisible and Resin.

This album is definetly better than whoracle IMO. The album was a little more consistent than whoracle was. The guitar harmonies are amazing and the instrumental on the deluxe edition is one of their best. This album is second only to Jester Race IMO.

amazing album.

Nah, Whoracle is way, way better. This is still great, but it's their weakest album after STYE.
They're still an unbelievably great band though.

I'm just wondering. Why do you think whoracle is better?

yea i mean hive and jotun are awesome but i just enjoyed colony better. Man Made God is definetly their best instrumental as well.

Good CD, but I'm afraid it's nothing without the Japanese bonus track, "Man Made God."

Well, I like every song on Whoracle, particularly Jotun, Jester Script, Everything Counts, Episode 666 (still one of their best songs), and the utterly fucking cool Dialogue With The Stars. Plus, I kind of dig that fact that it's a goofy near-concept album, and that at the point where they wrote most of the songs, one of the guys from Dark Tranquility was still in the band.
Colony just seemed a step down to me personally. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of great tracks on here, like Embody The Invisible and the title track, but it just seemed a bit less consistent to me.
It's still a great album by one of the best metal bands to ever destroy our eardrums.

Definitely one of my favorite metal albums of all time, In Flames throughout their career have progressed so much, but I'll always love their older sound. New World, Zombie Inc., Embody the Invisible and Man Made God are my favorites off this album.

if you want good In Flames than purchase:
Whoracle
The Jester Race
Clayman
Colony
They're all excellent except whoracle, that one is a masterpiece.
And a great review as well
