That's great to hear, glad he seems to be doing okay. Very excited to hear his new project ofc, curious how similar it will be to this band

I think Ryo may have nuked his own career with that decision, will have to wait and see a in a couple year I guess

anyone got a tldr on Ryo's interview on the Nik Nocturnal podcast?
|
| |
I’m still surprised Nik Nocturnal’s popular.
|
| |
yea same, which is why I don't feel like listening to an hour of his podcast

Not a fan of the new singles generally and the production is atrociously muddy.
RIP these dudes

New single is solid but missing Ryo's charm hard. Like imagine that song with just Ryo doing his screams

Would have helped if they didn't use that weird shitty clean robot voice for almost the whole back half of the track. Way to sideline your new vocalist on his debut lol. How mids and lows are good though.

Literally never ever gave these guys a shot because I just presumed they were run of the mill metalore. I only heard about them peripherally through Spiritbox, in a way that made me want to steer clear.
Kind of sounds like they are shite? But I sampled some tracks and, when they shine, I hear a little of that In Flames/Soilwork melodicism, in short bursts.
Lots of chugga-chugga fatigue, but I'm incredibly partial to the tracks Devilcry and Santuary from this album, the only I've listened to. I'd love an album full of that sound.

this band easily stands out among their contemporaries, yes a big part is the melodeath quality, another is the ambiance they use that really creates a fantastic mood

they are a textbook example of run of the mill metalcore
