flylo gets way more psychedelic and blends more genres in his beats, i dunno. This is too samey and repetitive for it to be compared to Flylo

@Lord(e)Po)))ts^true "I get that. Probably a key factor that separates our opinions on this is just the fact that I'm very production focal when I listen to hip-hop, and I've listened to so much that I'm really critical when I hear new stuff and it sounds too familiar. I get bored with beats v easily if I feel the sounds, techniques, and samples are derivitive."
This is perfectly explained. I'm quite naive when it comes to hip hop, my knowledge of its history and evolution is mostly surface level so perhaps my liking for this would depreciate with revisits in the future. As of now my exploration is slow and I'm in a sort of honeymoon phase with the genre. I'm loving some old recs like from a friend like The Goats and Antipop Consortium. Could you send me some essentials?

I’ve said plenty of times that this is the least unique thing Earl’s done and that it reeks of stones throw worship etc but I think he pulls the style off really well, and the length is perfect.

This gets praise for being short n sweet, but I feel like the drawn out drone beats on I Don’t Like Shit and Doris fit his loose vocal style better

I'm hardly a scholar of Hip-hop or anything, so I don't know whether this is 'derivative' or not, but if anyone can point me in the direction of tracks that sound like 'Peanut' that'd be much appreciated. To much this shit sounds unique and weird as hell

“Tracks that sound like Peanut”
Literally the entirety of I Don’t Like Shit

Disagree, that album doesn't sound anywhere near as deconstructed and cacophonous. Plus I was relating to the claim that Earl's work on this is 'derivative', which doesn't really make sense if you're comparing it to the exact same artist.
