Heavy Is the Weight is one of my favorites on there actually. Watch Out is eh, but you gotta at least be happy it's a short track.

Just jam some Letter Black or recent Skillet (esp. that Fight the Furry record) and this will seem like a rock 'n' roll gem.

Honestly I'd say this is a bit better than that FTF EP solely because Lose Hold of It All is literally plagiarized lmao.

completely 100% "meh"
never cared about this band and this album hasn't changed my mind either. Not sure where the hate from this is coming from though.
'Who I Am' sounds almost exactly Devour the Day

@Toon: I'm not sure either, it's an alright album at least.

I saw someone sound off giving it a 1 because
"it's bland"
Pretty sure that would make it a 2-2.5 but oooook

Another core band going alt/rock, eh? Seems to be the nature of the beast, I guess.
Really enjoyed their first EP and Hollow/Sleepwalking but that's as far as I ever went with them. I am a little curious to how this turned out.

@Ecnalzen: I'm expecting around a 2-2.5 from you. But your mileage will vary.

Well, Watch Out kind of sucked, but Sell My Soul was surprisingly good.

Yeah, Watch Out and Fool are probably the weakest offerings here.

Jeez, the lyrics are not great across the board here. It reminds of that kind of 'Linkin Park Hybrid Theory angsty teenager" kind of stuff I loved when I was in high school.
And damn, I was kind of into Heavy is the Weight until that guest rap section came in.

I have a pretty deep soft spot for those types of lyrics, but yeah it's not that great.
Honestly, I liked that rap section tho, so take it or leave it lol

I forget what kind of stuff he sang about on their earlier albums, or I just didn't pay as much attention since there was more going on musically and lots more harsh vocals.
The slower songs actually worked better than the more aggressive parts, I think.

A lot of it was standard Christian metal lyricism, at least on Unconditional and parts of This Light I Hold.

I gave this more than a fair listen and when l moved on to listen to something else it made me realise how unbelievably forgettable this is.

I'm a little wary of what Kenbo will think of anything I put out, since he seems to have a vendetta against anything that treads too close to radio rock.
Either that or his ears have just ascended to god status, so anything less than a 3 average is automatically a 1. lol

Radio rock sucks man, and all the metalcore bands who play radio rock can't do it well either so it doesn't help.

I mean honestly, what is this guilty of other than maybe being bland and uninteresting? And I guess since my writing style is pretty standard alternative rock, my shit'll suck too no matter how much time I put into it, lol.
