Glad to know this is a rebound from Affinity. Will check soon.
Goes without saying, but good review, Mongi!

It may not be as consistent as I was two years ago, but lately I’ve been a bit inspired.

Yes his vocals are lot more gritty here. Especially on Puzzle Box

I love Affinity and don’t really get the issues people had with it, but this album is top fucking notch. It doesn’t have as many weird and zany moments as it’s predecessors, but it’s perfectly paced and is incredibly consistent. I’m so excited to spend more time with this.

If anything his album is COMPACT. holy cow.

To me it's not as great as The Mountain but its focus and brevity are definitely improvements.

I was honestly a little worried about this one after Affinity, and with it being short. But holy balls! I can't stop listening to it!

I honestly can’t say because I don’t know your views on prog. If your looking for something new, maybe no, but if you’re looking for a massive improvement that’s focused, heavy and mature over the last then yes you’ll love it.

I got halfway through the good doctor and decided this wasn't for me. Good review, though.

The best song is Puzzle Box, though Veil and Host are very good too. Host has a strong Opeth vibe and one of their best moody songs.
