^ yes i would say more than any other group this resembles many of the techniques used by late era talk talk. stunning build upon that kind of musical thought.

"where is the prog" ugh

Speaking of that, can't wait for the new Kayo Dot if it's anywhere as good as this. Not expecting it to sound like this, this feels really personal, but if it's on the same level quality-wise it should be niiiice

"this is just art rock with chamber influences" okay i just don't agree at all

but i don't want to argue about it, just two different interpretations. though i personally favor mine, as you probably do yours.

My only minor gripe with this is that the vocals can sound very similar in inflection towards the last half of the album, I like the vocals and Toby's singing just at times the melodies can feel slightly uninspired. not a big deal though, this is an easy 4/4.5

I have never been able to get into Driver or any of his projects, but this sounds extremely interesting. Anything with a Shadows of the Sun and Messe influenced sound has me sold.

I Liked Maddonawhore, but honestly this is what I was hoping Maddonnawhore would be like back when it was first announced. What a great developement/improvement on that sound.

Get ready for the new KD. I asked Toby during his AMA if they left The Flenser and signed with Prophecy Productions on account of them playing Prophecy Fest USA and he said yes and that there should be an announcement for it coming soon.

I feel the same way as well. Productions’s much better IMO and I think it’s a much more realized version of what he tried to achieved with Madonnawhore.
