I really don't like how the 'brodown-chorus' part of Backbreaker is stopped in between the screams, takes the whole vibe out of the part I think. I really don't think this record tops Deathgrip, and maybe I even like StN better.

Ryan is a great screamer, but his cleans killed this album for me, the other clean singer is better

Choruses on Engraved, Backbreaker, and Oblivion are still lazy af and I'm not happy but When Everything Means Nothing is pretty sweet and Youth Division has grown on me.

growing enough to give a higher rating? haha

I may end up dropping down to a 4 or something, but not much lower, some of the flaws are popping up for me so, but still a solid album I think

This is probably my favorite hardcore album on the year so far. There have been a lot of disappointing releases so far this year and this album is the most solid all around that I have come across.

Best hardcore record goes to Sleeping Giant for me but this is a close second.

I guess I gotta give this a second listen. I thought this was pretty average compared to their previous albums.

Try to avoid using the same descriptor throughout your review. You repeat yourself often and it makes the rest of your review unnecessary. Come up with new ways to say the same things and you'll have a stronger piece of writing.

I'm happy that the band has found a nice balance between STN and Deathgrip. While I liked Deathgrip a lot, it didn't have the impact that STN and this have. This album on relisten is making a case to be their best to date.

thanks cosby, that’s always been kind of a bad habit of mine... need to start working on it and pull out a thesaurus or something

so, I was just on a flight and decided to give this a spin and check it out again. When I got to the breakdown of Shattered Glass, a rough bit of turbulence shook the plane quite aggressively at that exact moment... and I’m not sure I’ve ever been so terrified from a breakdown before haha

LMAO

That's the heaviest breakdown on the album too, bet you'll always get an extra chill when you listen to it now.

Some super cheesy moments, but plenty enough redeeming factors to be genuinely enjoyable more than it's not. Impressive return to form.
