y'all like the noisier tracks?

i just feel they are so drab and dumb. Really bring the whole thing down, actually.

I actually agree the noisier bits are grating

made an e: delving briefly into religion on the advice of Blushful, who ironically is my higher power,

i think mostly they work but i agree there are moments when they try too hard to discombobulate and start dismantling the tracks themselves

Could listen to that sample at the beginning of “recognizing the enemy” forever

Ambient was never really my thing, recently learned to listen to it.

Pretty exciting to check this nonetheless

Am I the only one who thinks this starts out really poorly (the first three tracks are all lame) but then gets astronomically better after that? It’s a shame too because I’m starting to really fall for the latter 7 tracks but that opening 11 minutes is weak enough to drop it down a whole tier.

or maybe you're just not an electronic fan? track 3 is my favorite on some days. check your genre biases

I'm aware of my genre preferences but that doesn't necessarily invalidate my opinion on those tracks' quality. The other songs here aren't necessarily "my thing" either but I'm enjoying them a ton. Usually even with electronic I can see why some people consider it good or why it's "objectively" well-constructed, even if I don't particularly enjoy it, but not really so with those first few tracks here.

Unrelated point but I think this is the first album by a black artist that I've listened to all year... Lol I suck.

The last two are a tad weaker than the middle five I'll agree but I still like them a lot more than the firs three.

i'll give you that intro track is not a good intro by any means, but at least it's kinda short.

But tracks 2 and 3 are top notch.

Idk, could be genre then. Those tracks just sound so bored of themselves to me. Beats and vox are lazy, repetitive, and uninteresting.

I find the intro a bit pointless but dig the other two before the more indie rock cuts, don’t think they would have the effect they do without those preceding tracks
