Seeing them live really bumped up their stuff as far as enjoyability goes for me.

Same here, a lot of the guitarwork gets lost in the mix on the record but hearing it live really helped me enjoy the album more when revisiting it. Made it easier to make out what's going on I guess.

The EP and the split were "okay" and then the first single for this album was probably the worst song they've ever written, so I was definitely worried about this sucking too.

I just don't see that. 15-38 is emo af and I fucking love it.

I’m not sure what more you guys wanted out of those releases, I thought they were fine. Not as good as YM&TV but enough to satiate me until this one dropped. But if they didn’t do much for you I guess it can’t be helped lol
