"Sweet review. I have yet to hear this, but perhaps I should. Only problem is that Underoath's previous stuff really, really sucks."

How could you say Cries of the past sucked :/

meh, I dont like this album at all. Good review, but this is deserving of below a 3. 2.5 at most, and imo, a 2.

The screaming and quasi growls are just abysmal, and the musicianship, while better, is still boring. Atreyu-lite ftw

um, if you dont see the blatant similarities between underoath and Atreyu, you need your head examined.

I didnt say that they sounded exactly alike, as you seem to have implied. I called underoath atreyu lite, which, in all honesty, is a pretty accurate assessment. They have the quasi-metal riffs, as well as the horrendous shrieks and the clean faux-emo background vocals.

I could call them hardcore hawthorne heights if you would prefer, but I think Atreyu lite is a better description

This album is classic in my book, everything comes together so perfectly, all the guitarists are finally clicking, and they find a way to keep each song fresh and unique while bringing the album together as a complete record, instead of a group of singles. And I actually like all the vocals on this CD, even spencer. O_O I must be crazy.

I think this album has effectively revolutionized their stale genre and beat it over the head a couple times with a tack hammer. Amazing. I've actually bought this CD for a couple people, I believe in it that much. And they've loved it. :-)

wow thats really generous of you ddnyy11188. You must really be into this, or just want to get your friends into tasteful music. Or maybe you just have too much money for your own good. Will you buy me a new Strung Out album?

I hate using the word emo to describe anything, and I really mean that. but the 2 songs i've heard from them from this album have some very emo moments literally. I just hate when they say "oh my god" in moving for the sake of motion but I don't think they use it in vain (being a mormon and all). but IMO they are genius song writers besides their emo moments like "my nuckels have turned to white" or "it wont kill you not this time." or "we walk alone".

but overall I am extremely impressed with their change. I want to get their album today.

I just got the album last night. I watched the DVD and it was really cool. I'm listening to the album. I think it is a great improvement and that like what Iluvatar said they don't write emo lyrics. You can tell they did alot more work an this album and they are serious about this. This album will definetly grow on me because the first time I heard Moving For the Sake of Motion I didn't like it but now its my favorite.

This album is gonna sell alot. The scene kids will buy it and throw it way. The metal fans will buy it, and the ones who hated TOCS will like it, the ones that like COTP and AOD will throw it away. the hardcore fans will like it. so either way it will sell=]

counteracting Spencer’s vomit with a nice dose of Pine-Sol that leaves me with a rather bad taste in my mouth overall when it comes to the vocals on the album, but, I mean, at least I know my mouth will be clean for the next (and hopefully better) time.

Why do you care about votes so much? I used to and I just came off as an immature, egotistical, whiny, annoying, stupid, loser with not enough time on my hands.

I personally hated TOCS, and I still think this one is pretty much tripe. Maybe its because he is the worst screamer in the history of screamers. Oh, and my assessment of this album has changed. Its not Atreyu lite, but it is Killswitch Engage lite. The guitar riffs are extremely similar in several songs. This Message Edited On 07.09.06
