Pretty okay summer album.
The album cover had me hoping it would have had more of an acoustic approach, akin to the song '5/4' from their debut

I figured it'd be more of a "Sleeping Powder" affair
Which was fine w/ me cos I loved that song

This is like the Gorillaz version of Everyday Robots.

Way more fun than that

That tracklist length and lack of features has got me hopeful.

Everyday Robots is miles better than this

Everyday Robots was just so beige, at least this has some life in it

This is a colorful album unlike everyday robots

Not even. Everyday Robots has better production, prettier melodies and 100x more heart and conviction. Listen again

I can only take Everyday Robot in doses
Do the whole thing at once & I may as well be taking melatonin

Yeah lol. Better prod maybe but everything else is a damp squib and/or squid on that album
poly does the ending of this album not do anything for you? Souk Eye strikes me as the sequel to Out of Time that we deserved but never got

Honestly, this is way more homogenous than ER, puts me right to sleep. This doesn't have that album's shimmering, serpentine melodies; s'all in one ear and out the other. Souk Eye is good, but not worthy of being called an Out Of Time sequel
Might bump this down to a 2.5

That makes sense if your copy is missing about half the tracks, but somehow I highly doubt that's the case
|

Homogeneous is the #1 word that comes to mind when describing this. It's nice and all, don't mind having it on in the background, but outside of Humilty's hook (which isn't even that good tbh) I can never remember any of this

it doesn't really get homogenous-ish until after Zurich, imo
Those last 4 tracks are a little dirgey back to back, but at least half of 'em are good

Hollywood and Fire Flies are prob the 2 most boring tracks I've heard all year. Was super pumped for the former too because Snoop

I've really enjoyed this tbh, great little fun record. I can't say I dislike anything on it and listening to the whole thing front to back is very quick.

this is like a bunch of andromedas mixed with empire ants. hence i love it.
