Makes sense that Not Okay is your fave, Doof, it's the most OPN-ish.

Great review, although I feel that you overstate the challenge the record poses to the fanbase ("will probably fail to fully satisfy most fans with expectations"). What if our expectation was a mind-bender? I find that the fans are accepting Sophie's record on her own terms (the listeners who are less familiar tend to be voicing objections).
The unconventional track flow definitely deserves discussion and you handle the deeper meaning really well! I differ on "Pretending" though... wouldn't describe it as "heaven reaching through the clouds" when it's clearly about the ache of being closeted.

kinda would preferred an album entirely of songs like “It’s Okay to Cry” or an album entirely of songs like “Ponyboy” but can’t complain with the results

I'd definitely have preferred an album entirely of songs like 'Ponyboy', would be a 4-4.5/5
A whole album of songs like 'Okay to Cry' would be a Doof 1.5-2/5

I want a Hundred Waters cover of that

Ponyboy and Faceshopping are defs my least fave here because they're tonally a bit jarring with the rest of the record, but they're still super cool.
