I can’t even tell you guys how many times I’ve spun this album now. Probably close to 30-40 times. Still hasn’t gotten slightly old for me. It just made me like the songs I was a bit iffy about more.

I honestly didn't have this much fun with a band/album in a while (excluding Kreator albums and maybe the new Alterbeast). Wish I could see these guys live.

I caught them at warped last year and at northern invasion this year. Fuckin love their live performances

Sweet.
How would you rank the songs off this album?

They’re so great live. I hope they do what they did with Mothership and do a tour where they play this album front to back.

It’s honestly impossible for me to completely rank them, because several are straight up equal to me but, roughly...
Evaporate, Suspended in this Disaster, Care, Bloodsucker, Son of Robot, The Rattler, Midnight Crusade, Flash, Slouch, Shelf Life, Hair Song, Story of My Bros, Gospel Burnout, Count Bassy
|
| |
Suspended in This Disaster is top 3. Such a fantastic song, vox are amazing.
Shelf Life is sooooo good. I can say the same of Flash, The Rattler (that intro is amusing) and Hair Song (spun this album again and that song was wayyyyy better than I remembered).
Gospel Burnout is kinda underrated imo.

Gospel Burnout is fun

Very good song.
I can say with total confidence that this album completely blew away my expectations as well as the negative thoughts I had about Dance Tilian Dance regarding the previous record (Mothership).
This stuff has so much replay value. What an awesome and fun album, gj DGD.

I mean realisticically, all these songs are fantastic. The only song that I was ever iffy on was Count Bassy. Jon’s part at the end and the instrumental juxtaposition that came with it is the only reason I don’t skip it when listening through the album. The rest of the track is good and all, just not on par with the rest of the album. I’ve always loved Tilian, so I knew I was in for a treat from the start, but this album even slightly passed what I hoped for.

I wasn't sold on Count Bassy at first either, tbh, but the ending of that song has become something magical to me. I absolutely love it. The first half is whatever, but the ending... hoo baby.

I know it won't happen, but I really wish they'd get another guitarist. All of their best guitar work involves two guitarists and it freshens the sound up. Swan seems to have hit a wall

Yea but that was 7 years ago when he still had fresh ideas of his own, plus Sean was credited for writing at least one song on it

The guitar on gets better as the album goes on. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but that's it feels to me lol. This is growing on me a lot too. I gave it a 4 and was iffy about that at first but now I feel like can bump it up higher. I could honestly keep listening to the last minute of "Evaporate" forever.

dbm2 has the most phenomenal, fun and groovy guitar parts imo, hair song on this comes close to that and another tilian song that comes to mind is frozen one

Yeah, that's what I love most about DBM2, its probably their most fun album. You can tell they all were having so much fun on those songs, but I think they get to those levels on quite a few Tilian songs, especially on this and Mothership.

DBM2 is easily Will's best performance, there's no competition

Sounds really bland. Maybe it'll grow on me like most dgd albums do. But everything just sounds so phoned in on this one.
