yeah agreed. Meliora found a really good middle ground between the doom riffs on Opus and the more, uh, creative songwriting on Infest and we got their best album out of it.
This is just something totally different, and not necessarily in a good way.

and helvetesfönster is way underappreciated, i prefer it to miasma by a mile. far better songwriting in that track.

Meliora already had a pop flair that was increased significantly here.
Last two tracks are both very good; the closer is one my favourites actually.

man I just don’t see that
helvetesfönster just feels like it meanders way too long, Miasma is a lot more concise and just way more urgent, the song is epic.

i find miasma really repetitious and the saxaphone seems really gimmicky and doesn't add anything to it
helvetesfönster has a really rewarding progression and a beautifully haunting outro, as well as being unpredictable and having some wonderful melodic layering
