Your voice sounds kinda like the lead vocalist from Magnetic Fields

A lot of people on this thread with no rating next to the name, needs to make the chart, apply the ratings
|
| |
Also as I think I've said rym ratings would be lovely (ik youve done it DW, tysm) because the rating there is quite a bit lower than here (though there are admittedly like 77 ratings there)
Really appreciate the kind words though!

Also @Gyromania yet another band I need to check out tbh! baritones are often an interesting find making good music

Timothy - this album will feature in my 'First Half of 2018 - Best Albums' list (will put it up in a few weeks) and my final AOTY list (where I write long-ish descriptions/mini reviews) so hopefully that will get the album noticed a bit more here throughout the next twelve months.
I am also on RYM, so it will feature in some of my lists there (plus I've rated it too naturally)
Sometimes an album just takes off here, usually it needs to get on the chart first (think it takes 20-30 ratings to appear there)

Thank you very much DW

I'm surprised this hasn't taken off more already tbh. It's very sputnik-y
|
| |
True, I thought Doof and Sowing hype would do the trick :p
|
| |
Liked this on first listen a couple days ago, will be playing "Sunday's Cool" on the radio Wednesday night and I log all my playlists on RYM, so that's hopefully another little bit of RYM exposure

Thank you Dylan! And you say 20-30 ratings? I'd rate tbh but I feel like it'd be in poor taste
|

We should hit that number across June (especially when mid-year lists pop up). Also let's stop talking about ratings 'cause people will get annoyed.

Okay i will hush

Yes, people are sensitive.
Agreed with Sowing, this IS sputnik-y....good sputnik-y (important distinction)
|
| |
How do you mean sputnik-y?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
Good sputnik-y as the album delivers some current well-liked styles here basically
Bad sputnik-y to my mind would be progressive metal/metalcore which are VERY popular here

now if you just wait until rosehall's NEXT album...

Move into Metalcore and you'd be on the Year Chart a few hours after release

Have to say the album continues to grow on me, I hope you continue to explore the possibilities of spoken word storytelling on your future ventures - 'Frost' is really captivating, in fact I'd say the final three tracks might be my favourite stretch.
|
| |
I'm very glad! I'm really thinking about the application of spoken word in the future tbh. I have a foundational idea for the next release: i've been listening to a lot of free jazz and after hearing the title track of Ornette Coleman's Science Fiction i'm fascinated by the idea of application of spoken word over improvised backings.
the next album is going to be uhh 1) funkier 2) jazzier 3) more experimental production-wise and 4) more emphasis is going to placed on characters in the spoken/sung passages a la nick cave or 60's scott walker
