There does seem to be a bit of a backlash for this one. A lot of people didn't like the singles and expectations were low. And the hate for the album cover has been passionate.
I'm actually really enjoying the album. I really like 8 of the 12 songs (not counting ii) and repetitiveness has always been a Chvrches trait, so that doesn't bother me.
For me, it's heaps of fun, and bright, and singable, and now I have a magnificent 26 song playlist for my Chvrches mix.
I don't agree with y'all: 3.5-4.0 for me.
