I think Luminary is the worst song this band has ever made... Glad King is on this record too, cause that song is immense

3.5 is forgettable? In which universe?

Luminary has some interesting rhythmic changes. It’s a shame the vocals feel dragged along and shifted to accommodate them.

I wish the guys would play longer sets. 75-80 minutes is not enough for a headliner show

What happened to Dan?
He was incredible on One.
Dan never sounds like he's in key during the heavier sections, partly because it can be hard to write vocal lines over some of the riffs they play.

There's some of the old Dan on Smile, those droning high vocals he no longer seems to able to do that were everywhere on One.
But he just sounds tired here.

He sounds great here imo. Dan said in interviews that the vocal lines on One were too difficult to perform - most of the time ar least. It was too demanding, so he writes different lines now. And they're really good, I don't know what you're talking about tbh

Don't agree with that at all. He sounds fantastic, especially on Juno and on King. He still does high notes enough for me.

If you want a prominent example of someone not doing high notes anymore listen to Maynard on the newest APC album. Now that was a disappointment

Well maynard is an old man now. His voice has developed beautifully.

I thought Maynard was the second weakest aspect of the new album along with the drums and their production but opinions i guess. He still can hit high notes decently live, so he could have gone for some more ambitious singing

Bruce Dickinson is old (quite a bit older even) too and he can hit high notes like a champ

Bruce has a totally different singing style, singing in an operatic style requires a different approach to vocals than Maynard's approach.
If you don't look after your voice and try to sing in that style you will end up like Warrel Dane, who is an amazing singer but trashed his vocals towards the end.

I don't know, I feel Dan just isn't pushing his vocals like he used to. I love his droney, spacey highs that were all over One. His lower range does nothing for me.
