As soon as I heard it for the first time I knew it was going to be my favorite in the album.
The solo in of itself is amazing, plus the emotion squeezed into it and the fact that he sings the song on a slightly lower pitch than usual even tho when he goes high he goes really high makes the song for me. Its probably the thing I missed the most on the last AB album

Good review! I like the album more than I expected. However, Myles has been listening to Cornell's "Euphoria Morning" for sure. The similarities are a bit too obvious for me. I think the main riff of "The Great Beyond" and "Can't Change Me" for instance have a very similar sound and feel and there's a lot more examples like that on this album. Not a bad thing per se, since Cornell's album ios a true classic IMO, but maybe I feel that some tracks sound a bit too generic. I am however very happy with the vocal production/sound on this album. On the albums with Slash I always felt that Myles' vocals were so badly produced. It hardly sounded like him...

Hate the overwhelming country sound of this ... more variety in the instrumental style would have been appreciated .. Love can only heal is absolutely phenomenal though. The rest are all interchangeable to me

Myles voice saves this, but the sound/style just grates on me after awhile.

This is still really enjoyable for me. It’s just refreshing to hear some variety after he and Mark have been doing hard rock projects for so long. I think the folk style suits him really well.

I'm with ties
I'll add that his guitar playing is also pretty impressive in this, considering what we're used to

Yeah, I love his playing on here. So many riffs and melodies from this have stayed with me long after listening.

Good review, pos’d. I haven’t listened to this yet but I really like Myles’s hard rock stuff so I’ll give this a shot

You’ll like it, amazing album
Not as good as most of AB’s stuff though

I want to compare this album to 'Higher Truth' by Chris Cornell.
(Both coming from harder rock bands, then putting out a solo singer-songwriter type album)
And Higher Truth blows this out of the water.

Poor comparison tbf, firstly this is Myles' first solo album and Higher Truth is Cornell's 4th... secondly the departure in sound from AB to this is much bigger to what Cornell did, which fits into what he was used to and lastly the guitar work here is a lot more impressive and varied imo
Either way they are both really good albums Cornell is amazing, not trying to diss the man, wish he was still here and making more music

Sounds way too folksy .. Love can only heal is incredible but the rest is incredibly forgettable and otherwise unremarkable

Had no idea Myles had a solo album out. Loved Alter Bridge so will check this

Its quite the departure from AB sound, not as good as their best material for sure but I find it an easy and enjoyable listen every time. Hope you enjoy

Great album. This sounds fits him so much better than what he does with Slash.
