Whether or not this is the greatest post-rock album is subjective.

However, I don't think you can really argue that since its release it hasn't been the most influential. So many bands now are aping the "shimmering layers of guitar" sound that EITS first dropped here.
I would take some of my claims in this review pretty lightly since I was in love with them at the time.

It's been a while since I first heard it but this album is still damn good.

Don't get me wrong, i love this album too. It's probably one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm just noting that whether someone likes it or not, there's no denying the impact it has had on an entire genre of music.

This band outdoes all other post rock instrumental bands that I have heard, the likes of GY!PE, red sparowes, saxon shore, pelican & mogwai should be taking notes.

bold statement. I actually don't even know how to respond haha. You really can't compare GY!BE to Explosions in the Sky nor can you compare Mogwai with them. They are all doing their own thing.

oh and how did you GY!PE? hahah p isn't exactly close to b, unless you were thinking of "Godspeed You! Purple Emperor"

I will compare them right now.

Godspeed and Mogwai rule.

EITS suck.

I'd say GY!BE rules the most out of them all. But my favorite is Set Fire To Flames... good stuff.

After seeing 'Memorial' live its now one of my favourite songs of all the time, the ending is not chessy, to me its the most moving part.

Same goes for 'The Only Moment' xo

Though I do like Enjoy Eternal Bliss more than this, there are much better post rock records out there. This Message Edited On 08.26.08

I think TWTTT is better, but this is a close second, and an excellent starting place for post rock.

Haha, I finally have loads of free time now so I'm gonna try and sort that out IIL. I don't give this site enough back for what it's given me, this album being one of those things.
