They really haven't had any emotion in their music since the first two records. Silent Circus is probably the best thing they ever did.

Tbh i hated this on first listen. I even made a antihype soundoff about the length and how inconclusive all looks. I listen to it 2or 3 times and started to enjoy it more (so i deleted it). So lets wait for an automata II and see where it goes.

I'm pretty happy with this album. When I heard Condemned to the Gallows, I was just happy that they were willing to write something properly angry sounding again.



It'll take a few more listens to stew but I enjoy the direction they've gone in.

dude's scream is one of the worst in the biz. Sounds like he's whispering and they cranked the gain. At this point in my life nothing interests me less than this brand of prog guitar like ughh

I really wish the singer would vary up his harsh vocals more. There are attempts on this record, but overall he just sounds so monotone and cacophonous to me. I agree that the screaming is the band's weakest aspect.

Tommy's vocals went from being mostly unbearable on the first two albums, to being amazing on Alaska and Colors, to becoming progressively more annoying again as he started to overuse his cleans.

I really enjoy his cleans. I thought they were particularly good on Parallax II. I would preferrer if they cut the yelling altogether.
