So far I can only envision the new DGD record or the new Underoath record topping this for me. Goddamn this is good.

Maybe. They have yet to release a bad record IMO and their new record seems influenced by Norma Jean's latest which was fucking amazing, so we'll see.

Anyway, no point on bringing up different bands on a discussion of this record. I don't understand why, but Aftermath brings up absolutely absurd levels of nostalgia in me and the album hasn't even been available for a day. I don't know why, but I love it.

Man I am getting a bit of Oathbreaker, a bit of Brutus, where the hell did these guys come from? This is crazy good.

This album is honestly blowing my mind and I'm not even finished with my first listen, it's like all of my favorite bands growing up The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Blood Brothers, At The Drive In, Converge, Hopesfall, The Locust and Converge with higher emphasis on production and electronic elements(which I'm into more now)and an incredible female singer combined together. This album is beyond what I needed, holy shit is this epic/beautiful/intense/engaging/incredible/unique/enthralling.

Yeah, I like the fact that it’s not constrained by bullshit. There’s obvious Dillinger influences in there but the album flirts with black metal, jazz, shoegaze, pop and ties it all together without conceding anything. It’s bloody great.

I've only listened to this once but it's a lot to take in, to the point where my opinion is basically ??? Excited to see how it reveals itself over time, bizarrely cohesive yet very eclectic, just not sure I've connected with any of the individual cuts.

One thing is for certain, as much as I was a fan of their older stuff, this is a completely different band.

Even Doof likes it.

This blows anything they did before out the water. Those 7+ minute tracks are all so powerful.

Is this really that good?

Their last album had a great sound but the genre hopping got pretty homogenous after a while...
