@Dewinged It's all good man my bad, cheers!
I agree that Manila is probably the best song in here.

This review confirms what I have already thought to be true. The band has been in a steady decline since after The Lack Long After. 'Hiding' off the split with Touche Amore was a good parting jam from these guys. Everything else has felt like an empty shell.

I'm gonna weigh in on this officially

Idk I love the last album. This one is good but it's easily their worst.

harsh review, but I can understand being bored by this. I just think the music is very ambient and airy, and I think the vocals work very well for the music. The album kinda reminds me of The Hotelier's Goodness album.

"No I agree with the other dude, there are clearly some oversights here that you wouldn't fuck up so badly in a review if you had listened to the record a handful of times. Also, a 2.3 is clearly a revenge score. Can you imagine this thing having a 2.3 avg? Even if it's a little boring, it's nowhere near a bottom-of-the-barrel album that a 2.3 would imply. Treb just mad they don't write music that will make him cry every time anymore."
You do realize music is subjective right? Implying that an album can't have a certain score from an individual is absurd.
Also wtf I listened to this 5 or 6 times

I don't get why people bring up the average when they talk about a staff score. If every staff review was the same score as the average that would be incredibly boring, why even have reviews at that point, why have multiple staff members?
And the criticisms about the one octave thing, it's meant to be less literal, I knew some fuck would literally map out the notes he sings and point out that he sings more than one octave, which is lol btw, but the point is to me the listener it sounds like he's never leaving the one octave, whether he actually does it not doesn't matter as much as the fact that it sounds samey to me

"Abandoning their screamo roots was a mistake."
Yeah, but making a boring indie rock album instead is an even bigger mistake I think.

Yeah agreed tbh. Their screamo stuff rules and I think Keep You is a great balance, but this one is just pretty boring tbh.
The Lack Long After is top 2 or 3 screamo for me.

I found myself trying my best to get through Keep You and enjoy it but i really hate the direction they went with it. I feel like in the effort to try something new they disregarded what truly made them a special band. The only time that record really made me feel anything was those 20-30 seconds in say nothing where he almost started to put power into his vocals. That being said, the clean vocals aren't the sole reason I'm not into the record, I just feel the songs lack variety in scope and tone.
