You don't have to be a master songwriter to realize there's some silly stuff here. Play a drinking game with this album, drink whenever you think to yourself 'did he just say that..?'

haven't listen to album yet, so can't comment on score and your personal opinions on it, but you seemed to try to give a fair review and have justified your points adequately. Pos.

I'm around as much as a fun of these guys as you are LaughingSkull, so your verdict will probably be similar to mine.

The best thing about this album is it introduced me to Devin Townsend properly. That guy is amazing, can't believe I slept on him so long. Glad MH ripped his Love? riff off to give him more exposure.

@artiswar Really? You never heard of him beforehand? The guy is practically a musical god.

Oh I had heard of him. One of my best friends had tried on numerous occasions to get me into him, but I just wasn't feeling it. He was showing me studio tracks, and I didn't realize just how insane that guy's vocal abilities were until I watched live performances.. I was absolutely starstruck instantly, haha. Been on a huge Heavy Devy kick lately...
And props to you for 3.5ing this album.

If this is responsible for introducing someone to Devin I might bump this to a 1.5

Apparently it is, not that you need to bump if ya don't feel like it

Album Rating: 2.5
Lol you should bump it up because it doesn't deserve a 1. Once you get past the cringe there's actually some good songs on here, it deserves a 2 at least. Although the first 8 seconds of Kaleidoscope is still literally the worst thing that's ever happened to me.

I remember being in 4th grade and staying up till midnight just to watch MuchLOUD (Canadian thing) for 5 minutes just to get a dose of metal. I recall stumbling upon Strapping Young Lad videos and being freaked out by the skullet and his general appearance. He's really cleaned up these days :P

I think it was a video from City not sure. I'm still digesting DT's solo albums, haven't dug all the way back into SYL yet.

Heard this once, and this is really not that bad! It's definitely better than Supercharger / The Burning Red.
Probably looking at around a 3 myself.

I dunno, I mean I get what you're saying but there are few other albums that I have heard recently that have made me cringe so fucking hard so consistently if ever I was going to use a 1 ::shrugs::
But yeah there are some riffs and things that aren't the worst thing ever
